“It’s beautiful, but it takes work,” Kravitz says about his unique family dynamic.
Lenny Kravitz is so close with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet’s husband, Jason Momoa, he considers him a brother.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the singer, 55, opened up about his relationship with his ex and the “Game of Thrones” alum, who married in 2017.
“Our families are blended,” Kravitz said. “I love her husband — he’s like a brother to me — and I love the kids. It’s beautiful, but it takes work.”
Kravitz and Bonet, 51, were married from 1987 to 1993 and have one child together, “Big Little Lies” star Zoe Kravitz, 30. Although Kravitz and Bonet are now close friends, the “Fly Away” singer said it took time for the exes to become friends after their split.
“You go through a marriage with somebody, you break up and it’s very difficult,” Kravitz said. “But [Lisa and I] put the work in and we took the time so that we could become best friends again.”
Meanwhile, Bonet and Momoa, who began dating in 2005, share two children together: Lola, 11, and Nakoa-Wolf, 10. It was revealed in October 2017 that the couple had officially tied the knot.
Kravitz wasn’t exaggerating when he said he’s close with Momoa. Last December, the “Aquaman” star shared a photo with the “Again” singer on Instagram wearing matching skull rings. The two pals also both wear the bling on their right ring finger.
“I’m a huge fan of the artists I meet on instagram love spreading the aloha,” Momoa captioned the post. “I got @lennykravitz a present made by @leroyswoodentattoos amazing bone skull ring.”
Momoa gifted Kravitz the jewelry following his “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig, where Kravitz showed up to support. “The Hunger Games” star even gave Momoa a shoutout on Instagram.
“My brother @prideofgypsies is doing his thing right now on @nbcsnl,” he wrote at the time.
